Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will help get your Hachinohe holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you bring the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and take a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a sensible choice.
- It's likely you've heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's plenty you can do to reduce your risk. Wear compression tights or socks, drink lots of water often and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
