We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through the airport and exploring Harran before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right things. First things first, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by layering up, and wear flat, enclosed footwear like slip-ons.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your legs and feet often.
