Depending on where you’re coming from, your journey to Heyuan could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. We’ve compiled some useful travel tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right gear. First of all you’ll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, make room in your bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural fibers and bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Opt for a pair of well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell during the flight. Leave the stilettos and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
