If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be testing. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a stress-free start to your time in Ibadan. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
