If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be daunting. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these useful tips and enjoy a worry-free start to your holiday in Ikorodu. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you take the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and pick shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
