Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Illizi escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack your passport, official ID, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a laptop crammed with your favourite shows are always good options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and pick shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to take on and off.
- It's likely you've heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
