We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a ball in Inca before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when choosing what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a sensible option, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Most of us have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
