Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Ishioka could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. Here are some handy tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right things. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any vital medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
