We've pulled together all the info you need to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a ball in Jervis Bay before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, official ID, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are good options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll arrive looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by donning layers, and wear flat, enclosed footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
