If you're poorly prepared, air travel can be challenging. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these tips and tricks for a stress-free start to your holiday in Jukkasjarvi. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, travel docs, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
