We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be breezing through airport security and exploring Kalimpong before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Go for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.
