Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Kapit could be no sweat at all or it could drag on forever. We've put together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Next, make room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable substances, like aerosols and matches, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and opt for shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
