Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Kranj escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, travel docs, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you hope to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and pick shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your legs and feet moving.
