Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of essential travel tips that will help get your La Paz holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a worry-free flight experience is to be prepared. So, let's start with the basics: passport, official ID, credit cards and daily medications. Next, bring items that'll help while away those hours, like some electronic gadgets or a good read. It's also a wise idea to bring your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, be sure to pop in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
