Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Le Havre could be no sweat at all or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some handy hints that will help you start your next great escape on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Pick easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- The result of lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
