Depending on where you're coming from, your flight to Lifou could be no sweat at all or it could go on forever. We've compiled some handy hints that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a pleasure if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers during long-haul flights. Lower your risks by staying hydrated, keeping your ankles and legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
