Wherever you’re coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you’ve prepared well. We’ve made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Linz holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It’s easy — first, pack in your passport, important documents, wallet and medications. Next, you’ll want some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling novel and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you intend to take a short nap, a neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm other people, such as pepper spray and guns, aren’t allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to bring a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. But the good news is there are proven ways to significantly reduce your risk of developing it. Keep your fluids up, walk up and down the aisles as much as you can and wear compression socks or tights.
