Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Lower Prince's Quarter escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, find room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and wear flat, easy-to-remove footwear like sneakers.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers during long-haul flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
