If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be daunting. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a pain-free start to your getaway in Macas. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you bring the right things. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your aircraft are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and take a cardigan as it can get chilly inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are also recommended.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
