No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will get your Machala holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your number one priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen feet can be a side effect of flying. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a sensible way to go.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
