Wherever you’re jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you’re well prepared. We’ve compiled a list of handy tips that will get your Magwe holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, travel docs, cash and daily medications. Next, you’ll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your prime concern when selecting what to wear on board. Consider your footwear carefully too, as swollen ankles and feet can be a side effect of flying. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are your best bet.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
