Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. Follow these handy tips and tricks that will help get your Makuyu escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by dressing in layers, and pick slightly roomy, flat shoes like sneakers.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks or tights.
