We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be zooming through the airport and having a ball in Mandal before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, travel documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a tablet filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to take a short nap, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items differs between airlines, the general rule of thumb is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and items that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by wearing layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
