If you're not prepared, travelling can be tough. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a trouble-free start to your holiday in Mantralayam. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, important documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling book and a tablet filled with your favourite shows are good options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you arrive at your destination looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural fibers and bring a cardigan just in case you get cold. Always go with roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks also helps reduce the risk.
