We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and enjoying Maprao Island in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and remember to take a sweater as it can get quite cool inside the cabin. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also recommended.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
