Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. Check out these handy hints that will get your Marathon escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a few toiletry items so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your prime concern when deciding what to wear during your flight. Consider your footwear choice with care too, as swollen feet and ankles can be a side effect of flying. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help reduce this risk.
