Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Marathon escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a great travel experience is to pack in advance. So, let's start with the essentials: passport, travel docs, cash and medications. Next, bring on board items that'll help keep you busy, like some electronic devices or a good book. It's also smart to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earphones. And of course, don't forget to chuck in toiletries like a toothbrush, cleansing wipes and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable substances, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible choice, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- You've probably heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To lower your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your feet and legs moving.
