We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a ball in Marinha Grande in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any vital medications and maybe a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Go for slip-on footwear, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and move your lower limbs often.
