We’ve rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you’ll be speeding through airport security and discovering Markham in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right stuff. First things first, you’ll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare set of clothes and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Lastly, don’t forget to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and take a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin on long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Unfortunately, one risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To prevent this from happening, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression tights and socks are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
