Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy tips that will help get your Marshall holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by wearing layers, and wear flat, slightly roomy footwear like slip-ons.
- Caused by sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-distance flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression socks to help improve your circulation.
