Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Mata de São João escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of an airplane are no fashion runway. Don comfortable layers and take a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good choice too.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a serious condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. But the good news is there are ways to significantly reduce the risk of developing it. Drink plenty of water, walk around the cabin as often as you can and wear compression socks to help improve your circulation.
