If you’re not prepared, air travel can be challenging. But there’s no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a pain-free start to your time in Matemwe. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you’ll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The goal here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural fibers and pack a cardigan just in case you get cold. Always go with well-fitting, flat shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help lower your risk.
