We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and having a ball in Medicine Park in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, put in your passport, travel docs, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you hope to catch more than just forty winks, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to bring a sweater in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
