Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Meishan escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a stress-free experience if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good read. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and go for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
