Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Midgard could be simple and straightforward or it could drag on forever. We've put together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you carry the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good read. Next, make room in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a Swiss Army knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable products, such as fuel and fireworks, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and choose shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
