We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and having a ball in Mondorf-les-Bains in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when choosing what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, closed-toe shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
