Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Naoshima could be no sweat at all or it could go on forever. We've put together some useful tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a stress-free travel experience is to be prepared. So, let's start with the basics: passport, official ID, bank cards and important medications. Next, take on board items that'll help keep you entertained, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling novel. You'll also want to pack your chargers, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of headphones. And of course, be sure to chuck in toiletry items like a toothbrush, lip balm and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and choose shoes that are flat, roomy and easy to remove.
- The result of sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
