If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be testing. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a trouble-free start to your holiday in Nieuw-Amsterdam.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy --- first, put in your passport, official ID, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favourite movies are good options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Wear comfortable clothes and remember to bring a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are always a good choice too.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There are plenty of ways to minimize your risk. Don a pair of compression socks or tights, drink plenty of water and move your legs and feet. Do a few laps of the cabin or perform some simple exercises in your seat.
