We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight a stress-free experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and discovering Oldenzaal in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and opt for shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
