We’ve rounded up all the info you need to make your flight as stress-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you’ll be zooming through airport security and exploring Olongapo in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you’ll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to make yourself as comfortable as possible. Layer yourself up in natural-fibre clothing and bring a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin. Opt for a pair of roomy, flat shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
