If you're not prepared, travelling can be overwhelming. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a pain-free start to your holiday in Ome. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, travel docs, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a few toiletry items so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and choose shoes that are flat and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
