We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and discovering Ouray before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy novel and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll hop off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
