Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're well organised. We've made a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Pal escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Next, find room in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, spray paint and flares. Sports equipment like ice skates, and objects that could harm other people, such as swords and guns, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose clothing is a wise option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
