We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you’ll be zooming through the airport and seeing the best of Paraty before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, pack in your passport, travel docs, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you’ll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite movies are good options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you’ll step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, fireworks and fuel. Sports equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, aren’t allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and pack a jacket just in case you get chilly. Pick a pair of roomy, flat shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. There’s lots you can do to mitigate your risk. Don a pair of compression tights or socks, stay hydrated and move your legs and feet. Do a few laps of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
