Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. Take a peek at these handy tips that will get your Peng Chau holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be easy if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose shoes that are easy to pull on and off, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
