No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy tips that will get your Petrele holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a spare set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and choose shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Caused by sustained periods of immobility, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
