No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Platanias escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and opt for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
