We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and enjoying Port Antonio before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes box cutters, razor blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and items that could harm passengers, such as guns and swords, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by dressing in layers, and pick slightly roomy, flat footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
