Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Porto Novo could be completely stress-free or it could drag on forever. We've rounded up some useful tips that will help you start your next unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you've got all the right things. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Go for flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to take a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
