Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Provo could be a piece of cake or it could drag on forever. We've compiled some tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Pick flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lower your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your feet and legs moving.
